Forever Young: The Light in the Room

When my mom came to live with me at age 90, a whole new chapter began for both of us. On any given afternoon, you would not see a room defined by age or diagnosis. You would hear music—and see my mom, now 93, smiling brightly and moving her feet to the beat.

Living with her has taught me something profoundly beautiful: while cognitive abilities may fade and time may age our bodies, the human soul remains forever young. Dementia and Alzheimer's may blur the details of yesterday, but they cannot touch her vitality, warmth, or capacity to love and enjoy every second of now.

Watching her live with such zest and grace sparked Forever Young. She inspired my hope that every older adult will be deeply cared for, honored, and given the opportunity to enjoy life to the fullest.

Her spirit is the heart of our story—a daily reminder that no matter how many years pass, the light inside us never ages.
